Gates Chili team wins stock market challenge

Gates Chili earned the top spot in the Junior Achievement of Central Upstate New York’s first ever JA Stock Market Challenge on March 1. This immersive, team-based experience provides the tools to understand the importance of the stock market to the economy and to each individual, all while being inspired by industry experts in our region.

Six teams from Gates Chili competed in this challenge. All teams competing for Gates Chili collectively came in first place and the investment team of Kelsi Briggs, Melanie Luedetmoonsone, Andy Luong and Nayab Mesfun came in first place as an individual team.

JA of Central Upstate New York's volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students in our community to dream big and reach their potential.
