Celebrating Spartan Park
Event timeline
The grand opening of Spartan Park will be an evening filled with celebration, tradition and community pride. We invite families, students, alumni and community members to join us as we officially unveil this exciting new space for Spartan athletics.
Ceremony 🎉
5 p.m. – Team Warmups
The evening begins with baseball and softball team warmups on their respective fields.
5:30 p.m. – Opening Ceremony
The official ceremony will take place in the central circle area of Spartan Park and will include a student performance and recogniztion of the vision, planning and teamwork that brought Spartan Park to life.
Baseball Game ⚾
5:50 p.m. – Transition to the Baseball Field
Following the ribbon cutting, guests will be invited to walk together to the baseball field to continue the celebration.
5:55 p.m. – Baseball Ceremonial First Pitch
A senior captain will throw the ceremonial first pitch to a younger catcher, symbolizing the connection between current student-athletes and the next generation of Spartans.
6 p.m. – Baseball game begins
The Spartans will play their home opening game against the Churchville-Chili Saints.
Softball Game 🥎
6:05 p.m. – Transition to the Softball Field
Guests will then walk to the softball field.
6:10 p.m. – Softball Ceremonial First Pitch
A senior captain will throw the ceremonial first pitch to a younger catcher, officially marking the beginning of play on the new field.
6:15 p.m. – Softball game begins
The Spartans will play their home opening game against the Churchville-Chili Saints.
Safety and expectations

Celebrating Spartan Park is a celebration for the entire Gates Chili community, and we are committed to making it a safe and welcoming experience for all. To ensure a positive environment, elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian throughout the evening. All guests are expected to follow the Gates Chili Code of Conduct and Support and demonstrate the Spartan Way values of respect, responsibility, compassion and hard work.
By modeling the Spartan Way, we can keep the focus on school spirit, community pride and fun.
To keep this celebration safe and fun for everyone:
- Elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
- Follow the Gates Chili Code of Conduct and Support at all times.
- Show the Spartan Way: respect, responsibility, compassion and hard work.

Spirit Week: Get Ready to Show Your Spartan Pride!
Leading up to the big event, we’re celebrating with a week full of Spartan spirit! Students and staff are encouraged to join the fun by dressing up each day and showing their GC pride.

Wear your favorite sports gear, jerseys, or team apparel. -
Team Throwback Day
Dress like a Spartan from another decade — think retro GC gear, vintage vibes, and old-school athletic style. -
Team Up Day
Coordinate with a twin or small group by matching colors, themes, or outfits. -
Team GC Pride Day
Go all out in blue and white and/or Spartan gear to celebrate our Gates Chili community!
